A whole day indoors | Sunshine City’s indoor spots

Beyond the aquarium, the same complex has plenty for families.

• Sunshine 60 Observatory: high-up views, no need to check the weather
• Konica Minolta Planetarium “Manten”: has beanbag seats — nice for a break with little ones
• Namja Town & character shops: the Pokémon Center and more are in the same building

The aquarium + observatory combo ticket is ¥3,000+ for adults and ¥1,500+ for children; ages 4+ get the observatory free plus the aquarium from ¥800. If you’re doing both, it’s usually cheaper than buying separately.

• Access: about 8 minutes on foot from the east exit of JR/Tokyo Metro “Ikebukuro”; direct underground passage from “Higashi-Ikebukuro” on the Yurakucho Line

• Suggested route: aquarium (1.5–2 hrs) → lunch → observatory or planetarium. The worse the weather, the more it shines
